Killing time but not other life forms; how would you spend 75,000 light years stranded from home?

I'd spend it ####ing.

Trek always talks about how it's about the human condition, yet everyone acts like a bunch of Monks.................except Worf & Dax.  Those two were screwing their brains out every chance they got.

Go Worf!!!!!

I would spend it doing busy work to keep myself from thinking about missing my loved ones i would volenter for every mission and any extra over time to just work, also on the holodeck when I could find some extra time, and if Chakotay was there I would be all over that *wink* lol

dude!

everyone on deck 9, section 12 knew of tom's and b'elanna's "rearrangement of heavy objects" in her quarters.  not to mention when their hormones were running wild during "scientific method."

i'm pretty sure those two were every bit the lovemaking animals that worf and dax were.  so you can have worf, i'm taking b'elanna. ;)

oh to the posters original question....um either hanging on the holodeck doing just about anything and everything to just overall exploration or planets, nebulas and other interstellar phenomena.  i was born at least 400 years too early. there's a part of me who is envious of our descendants who will get to do these things.  :)

A light-year is a unit of distance, not time.

On Voyager?  I think it would be a shrieking hell without the company and discipline (within reason) that we see onscreen.  I think they could stand to loosen up some, though.

I'd de-emphasize being so anal about getting home no matter what, and do a lot more research and first-contacts.   Revel in the universe.   Get the hell off the ship.  Go on extended shore-leaves and travel all over these planets.   Find new substances to get drunk on.   Take a lot of aspirin and other medical supplies to recover from the local nightlife.  Do archaeology.   Fly through strange stellar phenomena and make IMAX holograms of it for the folks back home who'll never get to see them because you're having too much of a good time ever to go home.

hello i'm new here how did the star ship voyager get 75,000 light years from Earth?

is this sarcastic???

i'm just asking..

go check out the synopsis.. but basically there is a female captain named Janeway.. she puts together a crew to go and track down a renegade Maqui ship and crew.. on it is Torres.. a fiesty klingon / human hybrid.. Tuvok janeways trusted freind and undercover agent.. and some guy whom i can never remember.. but was always just background.. and Chakotay.. a native american mamby-pamby who hands over his ship the minute things get bad..and never questions athority..

anyway, while chasing the Maqui ship they end up getting catapulted 75,000 light years away by a device known as the "caretakers array" he is a dying entity providing water to a race known as "ocampans" they were driven under ground by Kazons... (supposedly bad guys).. the caretaker feals responsible for the Ocampan's since he destroyed there land by trying to find himself a mate to "mate" with.. he couldn't and he kept pulling ships from all over other quadrants hoping they would be his mate.. they weren't.. once voyager and Maqui are accross the quadrants they try to find a way back. they can't the only way would be to use the caretakers array to send them back, but alas.. that would mean destroying the array which provides water and such to the needy ocampa.. if janeway uses the array to get her crew home she leaves the array behind and allows the kazon to get a hold of it (up unitl this point the kazon are forced to live on the surface of the planet.. which is a lot like most sci-fi movies version of what mars should be like.. maybe a little overthe top. basically its a barron dessert planet..they want the array to provide their species with endless resources.. so janeway decides that instead of letting the kazon get ahold of the array she would destroy it.. the thing dies.. and both Voyager and Maqui crews are now stranded in the delta quadrant.. ready for new aliens and experiences every week.. minus summer reruns of course..

Honestly the premise for this show rocked.. well worth the watch.. one of my fave series'.. you will enjoy.. and my words may seem a little slanted.. the'yre not.. i love voayger.. enjoy!

Hey, don't forget Nelix. And I thought the Ocampa went underground because of the Warming, not the Kazon.

I imagine that it would depend on WHO you were. I mean, really after the initial, who's dead and who's going to replace them issue, there really was no major (and very little 'minor';) room for advancement.

Harry Kim mentioned it a few times, that the advancement potential on Voyager were, by necessity, very limited, and if he had been anywhere else in Star fleet, Harry would've been (most likely) a Lt. Commander, yet he was still stuck as an ensign.

If I were one of the "un-noticed" folks, then i'd make dang-sure that I'd be noticed in a positive light by the Captian or the XO, to try and become one of the "included".

After that, heck yeah I'd be out on missions whenever possible, and the halo deck, though, that would simply make me a bit more homesick.

Maybe, I'd ask Belana for a date.... (sorry Tom).

Let's see,, try to get home again. Check out the new space along the way. Try to make new friends along the way. Let's see, that sounds like Janeway,,,, except I would Not cut myself from the rest of the crew.    Oh,, and if there happened to be a tall, dark, tattooed and handsome first officer on board I would find every dark corner of the ship I could trap him in and well,,,,, he wouldn't be lonely the rest of the trip.

Right.

Good Lord, everybody, let's get off the #### ship!   Don't hide in a big interactive 3-D television, you've got the universe, why the hell do you think you need TV?

Just realized while I was searching for a decent LIS cast photo, originally in ST:Nemesis, Data's "brother" android was supposed to be "B9" but then was changed to "B4"...probably because the LIS Robot was actually named the B9.

:logical:
